It required not only hard work but also lots and lots of love and a clear vision. Not simply wishing for a life of their dreams, but putting in the action to make it a reality. There were many lessons learned along the way, but above all hearts of gratitude and humility were formed for the blessings they have been given. The story of Tye and Ann Rustrum’s success doesn’t begin with a mere decision to change the way their life looked. Rather, it was a product of learning that in order to have a different outcome in life, you have to change the input.

Both Tye and Ann Rustrum grew up in homes where hard work was an expectation and, as a result, they both brought this mindset into the life they built together. Ann grew up on her family farm where working hard was a habit from a young age. Whether it was in the classroom or around the farm, Ann Rustrum was never afraid to put in the work in order to accomplish what she wanted. As a result, she graduated as the salutatorian of her high school and in the top 1% of the College of Business at Oregon State University. Additionally, her family instilled strong values in her that she has carried with her throughout her life. These values have provided a solid foundation on which Tye and Ann Rustrum have built their own family values.

Likewise, Tye Rustrum was no stranger to hard work. He grew up in a family of dreamers, go-getters, and entrepreneurs. As a result of growing up in the family business, Tye Rustrum gained the first-hand experience of both success and failure. Although the family business created an incredible lifestyle in early childhood, it ultimately failed in Tye Rustrum’s early teens. Therefore, Tye Rustrum saw the impact that prosperity and failure can have on a family. As a result, he decided early on that he wanted to give his family a life that was abundant in opportunity and possibility

Additionally, Tye was surrounded by boundless encouragement in his childhood, and no dream was too big. He even earned a spot playing soccer for the Olympic Development Program in Oregon. Tye Rustrum quickly discovered that big dreams paired with hard work are crucial for success, but opportunity and preparedness have to meet at the same time for success to happen.

Tye and Ann Rustrum’s childhood wasn’t all work and no play. The southwest side of Portland, Oregon was Tye Rustrum’s playground as a kid. He vividly remembers the nights he spent with his family and close friends running around his property, playing the most intense games of hide-and-go-seek, and hosting movie nights under the stars. Similarly, Ann Rustrum recalls spending her childhood building forts in the forest on her property, riding two-wheelers with her sister, and playing princesses in the barn. Because of phenomenal memories growing up with incredible parents and siblings, Tye and Ann Rustrum knew they wanted to be able to give their children rich childhood memories as well.

Years later, Tye and Ann Rustrum met at the local county fair. From there, the rest is history. Their adventurous spirits, their will to achieve, and their desire to establish strong values only magnified as they built their life together. Tye and Ann Rustrum now live with the intention of creating a meaningful life for not only themselves and their two kids, Lexi and Brody, but for all of those that they encounter along the journey. Tye and Ann Rustrum strive to vividly live in the moments where memories are made.
